Questions to Ask Your Jet Broker

With the private jet broker charter market that is on demand in Europe consists of thousands of aircraft, operated by hundreds of different operators, it is not surprising that most flights are arranged through a charter broker.

The role of the broker is to help client filters and find the best planes for your flight, from what can feel like an extraordinary choice choice. That’s the position of trust and great responsibility – which we consider very serious here in the soldier.

Whether you choose us to help organize your flight (and we hope you do) or someone else, here are some questions you might want to ask before you choose a private jet charter broker.

If we can answer further questions, don’t hesitate to ask us directly. You can contact us 24/7 at +44 20 7315 4456.

1. What industrial accreditation & partnership do you have?

The broker charter is not (yet) arranged in the same way as the operator or aircraft manufacturer. But most leading companies will register for voluntary accreditation programs such as Argus’s certified brokers or Wyvern brokers.

The audit scheme assesses the brokerage business, seeing culture at work, operational processes, and financial stability – only provide certificates to those who meet the designated high standards. Privatefly certified by Argus and Wyvern.

CEO Adam Twidell received the accreditation of a private certified broker from President Argus, Joe Moeggenberg.

Good brokers must also be members of the industrial organization, such as Ebaa, NBAA, and ACA. Active participation in industrial groups, events and debates is the company marker with focusing on best practices, and what appears to raise standards. In our soldiers immersed themselves in our business and industrial agencies. Our CEO Adam Twidell Co-Chairs Sub-Committee of the EBAA broker, and for years ACA board members.

The company’s trading partnership can also be a good indicator of their service standards, because large organizations undergo a strict audit process before working with private jet companies. In our professional is a selection supplier for Virtuoso, the largest network of travel agencies in the world, besides many companies and other groups.

2. How long have you been in business?

This is not a guarantee – and there are exceptions – but choosing a brokerage charter with a successful business footprint record is their quality indicator. While digital transformation in our industry has brought many advantages, it also makes it easier for some brokerage charters that are less reputable to start an online business, misinterpret themselves and what they offer.

Having an impressive website is not a bad thing at all – and technology can add efficiency, cut costs, and improve communication. But do your research and make sure the company behind the website has knowledgeable staff, financially stable, and has operated commercially for a period of sustainable time – shows that their business model works, and the customer returns.

Privatefly has been around for 12 years now, and in 2018 we become part of Aviation Directional, a group of business flights that have been established for a long time including Flexjet and live jets.

3. Can I read reviews from your existing customers?

In any industry, the original client review is a strong indicator of the service and quality of the company. And the private jet charter is no different.

Ideally looking for reviews inspected and verified by independent third party review programs, not just published on their own company website. Many of the larger reviews will also help you get a full sense of service levels.

In professionalfly we collected reviews through trustpilot. With more than 850 reviews; you can get a clear view of how our real life customers feel by reading their comments. And we are proud to hold.

4. How do I know my plane is safe?

A leading carter broker will have a strict evaluation process for aircraft operators who work with them; and clear safety policies in place – and now must include their approach to covid-19 mitigation.

As an absolute minimum, your broker must work only with the current AOC operator; which means they are approved by the relevant national flight authority to carry out commercial operations. In addition, if they operate in the US, make sure your broker only works with part 135 certified aircraft operators. This means they are licensed by the FAA to bring passengers for the commercial private charter; and are governed by stringent safety standards than other types of non-commercial personal flights.
